Windows Phone


Windows Phone (or simply WinPhone) is a smartphone operating system from Microsoft that was introduced in 2010. Windows Phone 8, which was for the first time released in October 2012, has a new user interface based on the Modern design language, and has integrated third party and Microsoft services, and most important of all, it requires minimum hardware specifications.

Advantages

  • Multi-core support
  • Allows using of Internet Explorer 10
  • Shares the Windows Core (Windows Phone and Windows 8 share the same core)

Disadvantages

  • Few application are yet available
  • Lack of dedicated applications
  • No system file manager
  • Maximum supported resolution still lower than Android
  • If you don’t have a developer account, you can only register one device to use for app development
  • You can only deploy up to ten apps on a device registered for development
