The owner of the site provides IRS tax transcripts to customers, which are mainly attorneys or law offices. The software keeps track of customers and transcript requests, and it notifies customers and allows retrieval of the transcripts when they are available.

Some feature highlights:

  • On-the-fly input validation, using Ajax technologies
  • Optimized input forms, with masked fields, accelerators, auto-complete
  • PDF generation of tax request reports and agreements, automatically filled with customer information

There is a login screen for customers or administrators; once logged in, a customer can view and manage his transcript requests.

In the following screenshot, you can see the form for a tax transcript request. The form has been optimized for efficient data entry, and Ajax is used for features such as auto-complete and validation:

The customer has a section where he can edit his profile and provide required information. Credit card numbers are validated on the spot (to make sure that the card number format is valid and belongs to an accepted credit card issuer, e.g. Visa or Mastercard).

This is the administrative section, where the customer accounts are managed, and where the administrator can update the statuses of the transcript requests

Platform details

  • Environment: Microsoft Windows Server 2008 R2
  • Development language: ASP.NET 4.0, ASP.NET AJAX
  • Requirements: Internet Information Services (IIS) 7.5, Microsoft SQL Server 2008
